Professionals, Business Owners Urged To Embrace Insurance

Chairman, Western Area Committee (WAC) of the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers(NCRIB), Mr Gafaar Akindele Alamu, has charged professionals and business owners of all sizes insure their businesses against unforeseen circumstances.

Alamu gave the charge while delivering his inaugural speech during his investiture as the 14th Chairman, Western Area Committee and award of excellence, held in Osogbo, Osun State capital.

According to him, any business owner who has deemed it fit to insure his business would have no reason to rely on government financial support for succor, if his or her business and stocks damaged by fire or any disaster.

He said: “I’m happy to note that the professionals, business owners as well as market men and women are present in the Hall today. It is my wish that everyone here embrace insurance.
Every individual or business is exposed to different risks like loss of life, loss job, injury fire damage etc.

“I don’t see any reason why a business owners that has his/her building and stocks damaged by fire will continue to rely on government financial support for succor instead of seeking for compensation under his/her fire insurance policy.

He however allayed the fear of the people that insurance companies do not settle claims, saying it was nothing but falsehood.

“I charge anyone here that has his/her genuine insurance claim turned down in the recent past to meet me or any members of our Council for assistance. It’s interesting to note that many insurance companies are paying claim within 72 hours after complete documentation of the claim.

“My advice is that we should consider insurance an option to secure our lives and property. In doing so, let us contact ebay registered insurance brokers that understands the nitty gritty of any insurance contract.

“As none will like to go to court without engaging the services of a legal practitioner, it’s not adviceable to buy insurance policy without the services of a registered insurance broker. The beauty it is that engaging an insurance broker doesn’t increase the cost of your insurance i.e the services offered by an insurance broker is free to the insured.

In the same vein, the President Chairman, Governing Board, the Nigeria Council of Registered Insurance Brokers, Prince Babatunde Oguntade charged every business owners on the need to embrace insurance.
