Shake-Up: DSS Redeploys Spokesperson, Afunanya

The Director of Public Relations and Strategic Communications, Department of State Services (DSS), Dr. Peter Afunanya, has announced his redeployment, after 10 years of serving as spokesperson.

The development is coming about a week after President Bola Tinubu appointed Mr. Adeola Ajayi as the new DSS Director General.

Speaking with journalists in Abuja, Afunanya assured of his loyalty to the nation, the Service, as well as the new leadership.

While reassuring the public of the intelligence agency’s professionalism and adherence to due process under the leadership Ajayi, Afunanya emphasised the new policy direction of “covertness” and “studied silence”.

He expressed appreciation for the opportunity to serve the country as the spokesman of the Service for the unbroken period, even as he pledged to always do his best in whatever responsibility he is assigned. “I will remain loyal to my nation, Service, and my DG”, he declared.
