A- 36-year-old resident of Anguwar Diocese Kala’a in Hong local government area of Adamawa state has been arrested for alleged r@pe of his 21-year-old neighbor’s wife.
A statement by the image maker of the command, SP Sulaiman Nguroje said the suspect on August 15 in the afternoon took advantage of the absence of the husband of the survivor to commit the heinous act.
“Investigation, so far reveals that the suspect was wearing a black face mask and also carried a knife which he used in threatening the victim to comply with his demands. Unfortunately while committing the act his mask fell off. He thereafter fled the crime scene through the window after the survivor recognized him,” Nguroje said
The statement added that the incident was reported to the Divisional Police Headquarters Kala’a by the survivor’s husband.
“The Commissioner of police, CP Afolabi Babatola who frowns at ugly incident has directed officer in charge of Family support unit to take over investigation and ensure diligent prosecution. The Police Boss who empathise with the husband of the survivor over the unfortunate incident, equally calls on the members of the public to key into the Command’s effort in fighting to end all forms of Gender based violence,” the statement further noted
