New Dress Code: Borno Asks Female Muslim Students To Wear Trousers
The Borno State government has introduced the wearing of trousers for female Muslim students in government secondary schools across the state, effective from the first term of the 2023/2024 session.
Director, Ministry of Education and school management, Bukar Mustapha-Umara, on Thursday, revealed this in a statement in Maiduguri the state capital.
Mustapha-Umara said that every female student must always wear a trouser, a quarter blouse, a head tie, and a himar under the dress code, urging school principals to enforce compliance in the school.
He said, “This dress code is compulsory for all Muslim female students all over our secondary schools in the state.
”But for the Christian female students, it is optional. They can remain with their present dress code or change to the trouser.”
