Humiliation: We’ll Reply Obasanjo Soon – Olugbon Of Orile Igbon
Olugbon of Orile Igbon, His Royal Majesty, Oba Francis Olusola Alao, yesterday said that the Oyo Traditional Council will soon react to the public ridicule that monarchs in Oyo State were subjected to by former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
His disclosure at an Ibadan based FM Radio Station stemmed from the verbal and physical attack on him and many of his colleagues in Iseyin on Friday where former President publicly berated them for not standing up when Governor Seyi Makinde was called to deliver his remarks at the commissioning of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Iseyin Campus.
Obasanjo had upbraided them and commanded them to stand up and later to sit down as a mark of respect for Governor Makinde and himself being a former President of Nigeria.
Oba Francis who is the Vice-Chairman, Oyo Traditional Council, declined to speak on the matter when he was asked to react, but said that the Oyo State Traditional Council will discuss the matter at their next meeting, adding that a decision would be taken on the matter.
Oba Francis however said that all traditional rulers in Oyo State always accord Governor Seyi Makinde maximum respect and that Governor Seyi Makinde also respects them.
According to him, Governor Seyi is very humble and respectful, stressing that the monarchs have no regret supporting his re-election bid and the election of President Bola Tinubu despite Obasanjo having another presidential candidate.
