Amotekun Arrests 5 For Stealing In Osun

Operatives of Osun Amotekun Corps have arrested five men for allegeldly stealing of Motorcycle, Vehicle, and Vehicle Engine in Osun State.

The alleged suspects were arrested at different locations in the state.

The felons who specialize in Motorcycle, Vehicle, and Engine theft were arrested by the operatives at different locations during a routine patrol and intelligent gathering of the corps.

The suspects namely; Olatinwo Koyum Sunday (18) Muideen Usman (19) were arrested for motorcycle theft in Apomu of Isokan Local Government of Osun State, the duo were arrested for stealing neighbor Bajaj motorcycle and allegedly sold it to Bokoto at Ogunpa Ibadan in the sum of N15,000.

The suspects were arrested after a complaint was lodged at Amotekun Isokan Command and the operatives swung into action immediately and apprehended the culprit in their hideout.

Other accused, Gbenga Adewale (45) and Kehinde Adeoti (51) were arrested for attempting to steal a vehicle engine in osogbo at midnight on Monday and were arrested by the operative on routine night patrol.

Sodiq Afolabi was arrested for attempting to steal a vehicle in Ikirun, Ifelodun Local Government of the State, he was arrested by the intelligence operatives of the corps when trying to steal the vehicle.

Confirming the arrest to the newsmen in Osogbo, the Corps Commander of Osun Amotekun Corps, Brig. Gen. Bashir Adewinmbi said the suspects were arrested at different locations in the state by the operatives after a complaint was lodged at the Corps Isokan Command on a lost motorcycle and they swung into action immediately and apprehended the culprits in their hideout.

The other suspects were arrested by the operatives on a night patrol for attempting to steal a vehicle engine in Osogbo and Sodiq was arrested for attempting to steal a vehicle in Ikirun.

“During cross-examination, the suspects confessed to committing the act”. Adewinmbi asserted.

The suspects will be handed over to the police for subsequent interrogation and prosecution.
