Three Nigerian-Made Apps Every Business Owner Should Own
Running a business in Nigeria can sometimes be challenging. This is largely due to the many issues the country is plagued with. From issues of insecurity and unavailability of competent staff to poor infrastructure, inadequate infrastructure and constant depreciation of the naira, many small and medium-sized business owners have over the years struggled to still be in existence.
With the emergence of new tech heads in the country, a small percentage of business owners have effectively run their businesses with the help of the string of tech apps created by some of these Nigerian tech eggheads who fully understand the daily struggles of most business owners in the country.
In honour of National Technology Day, here are three must-have Nigerian-made apps every business owner should own
Calendly
Founded by Tope Awobona in 2013, Calendly aids in automating and tracking your meetings. This app strikes out multiple email exchanges required in setting up meetings with clients. Calendly also works with your phone and laptop and can be used on other platforms such as Gmail, Slack, LinkedIn Messaging, Recruiter, Zoom, Hubspot, Sales Navigator and Mailchimp.
Kippa
Financial stability ranks high on every business owner’s list. Kippa, founded by Kennedy Ekezie-Joseph in 2021, serves as a bookkeeping app, bank account and can be used to manage any business inventory.
For businesses struggling to track their sales, expenses and debt, this app handles this efficiently.
For businesses that operate mainly online, the Kippa app can be used to create and send invoices as well as digital receipts to clients. With its automated capability, the app also aids in helping recover debts as it does a fine job sending reminders to clients who owe such businesses.
Paystack
Founded in 2015 by the duo of Ezra Olubi and Shola Akinlade, Paystack caters to both local and international businesses. It provides clients of such businesses the ability to make payments using either their foreign bank cards or via Apple Pay as well as an option to display prices in USD.
