Transborder Gang Leader , 4 Members Gunned Down By Anambra JTF
The Anambra state Joint Task Force on Security this Tuesday recorded a major success when a detachment of the security outfit gunned down an alleged transborder gunman popularly known as Odumodu.
This coming less than 24 hours after the state government established nine Security Camps along the borders Anambra state based on the belief that the gunmen come into Anambra state fro from the neighboring states.
Also neutralized are four of his gang members who were bursted by the officers and men of the Task Force while on operation.
Odumodu is known to have a camp in Imo state where he allegedly operate from into Anambra state and he is being accused of being behind most operations that had led to the lost of several lives .
According to a release from the Press Secretary to Gov Charles Soludo Mr Christian Oburime ;
The dreaded Odumodu, leader of a criminal gang, operating from Imo state into border towns in Anambra was gunned down by the gallant Anambra security forces with four others
One Ak47 and four Pump Actions were recovered from the criminals by the gallant Security Forces
But the Anambra state Police Public Relations Officer DSP Tochukwu Ikenga is yet to confirm the report at the moment.
Recall that the Task Force had gunned down four suspected kidnappers around Nkpor Umuoji Ideani road in Idemili North and South local government areas.
Arms and charms were recovered from them in the process.
