The lawmaker representing Ijesa South Federal Constituency, Hon. Lawrence Babatunde Ayeni has expressed worried over the incessant attack on APC members in Ilesa and its environ by the people he refered to as PDP thugs.

Ayeni made this known on Tuesday during the inauguration of his Campaign Committee at his office in Okesa area of Ilesa.

The committee which was inaugurated to work out modality and plan on how Hon Ayeni will return elected in the forth coming election as a lawmaker in the Federal House Representative, Abuja.

Ayeni opined that Election is no longer a parade or jamboree things as everything has changed.

“you have to go to the people to tell them what you have in stock for them before they can trust you with their votes and that is why you are seeing this today

“As a party man to the call, I can’t just go out and start campaigning, that is why I deem it fit to invite the leaders of the party to come and flag it off for us and I am confident by the grace of God come february 25, 2023, L.B Ayeni will triumph.

Talking about the mandate of the inaugurated campaign committee, He refered to it as a mere funfair, saying they are going to organize a workshop for the committee next week where they will get the outlines of their next course of action.

While checkmating the level of violence that have been carried out against APC members since the Peoples Democratic Party took over the mantle of leadership in the state, the lawmaker said he’s troubled on the attacks and destructions.

Narrating some of the steps he has taken so far, he said : “I have written a petition to the highest authority, I mean the security operatives, right from the office of Inspector General of Police down to the DPO, pre-empts, planned attacks on APC members are being carried out at different places as more than four people are in the hospital receiving treatment.

Frowning at the incident going on in Atakumosa West and Atakumosa East local governments, especially Igangan, Iwara, Itapa axis, Ayeni said it has become a deserted area for APC loyalists, where they were warned that if they can’t vote for PDP they should vacate the area or pay some ransom which ranges from N100,000 to N500,000 and I am so worried about this development.

Meanwhile Engr Oluremi Omowaiye, the immediate past commissioner for works and transport in osun who is also the spokesman APC Presidential Campaign Council, Osun state Chapter, condemned the attacks.

“The coming election is our race as you can see the slogan ‘Awa lokan’, so even PDP members are going to mobilize for us to ensure that we deliver our local governments and federal consistency, to win the state massively for APC

“We are so confident that with the achievements of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, the past administration in osun, APC will win across board

Considering the attack made to him and other APC members across Ijesaland, Omowaye said they are made bold to win all the elections as the matter had been reported to the appropriate authority to wage in into the incident.

“We are not worried because we have informed all security operatives, so,we are using this opportunity to call on the IG and the Director DSS that they should provide enough security for our people before, during and after the elections

“PDP as a party is known for thuggery so we urge the security operatives to live up to their responsibility. So we are confident that our people will not exercise fear come what may, they will come out to vote massively for all APC candidates, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and others contesting under the auspices of APC

“PDP as a party is known for violence that is why they have been attacking us but because we are law abiding party we are not going to take law into our arms but rather continue to appeal to security operatives to do their work

“But we want to urge our people at home to stay calm, we are talking to the security operatives to also provide adequate security.

“Come what may, they should vote for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Shettima for president, vote for Ajibola Famurewa for Senatorial candidate for Osun East, vote for Hon L.B Ayeni to return to the house of rep, in Ijesa-south Federal Consistuency and all our house of assembly candidates.
