Land Dispute: Olu-Ileogbo Reports Oluwo To Commission Over Disregard For Orders
A traditional ruler in Osun State, Olu of Ileogbo, Oba Abeeb Agbaje, on Wednesday told Osun Boundaries Commission that its order restraining parties from activities in Ahoro Ileogbo and Okesaji Areas was disrespected.
CityMirrorNews reports that Ileogbo is the headquarters of Ayedire Local Government area of Osun State.
Counsel to the monarch, Muhydeen Adeoye, while addressing the Commission at its sitting on Wednesday in Osogbo, recalled that order asking parties to maintain status quo was given at its penultimate sitting.
Adeoye, who presented pictures of activities that took place on the dispute land after the order of the Commission said, those that perpetrated the act said they got Oluwo’s permission to carry on with their activities.
But counsel to Oluwo, Fatima Adesina, who described the accusation as mere heresay, said her clients never disrespected the order of the Commission.
Responding to Adeoye’s claim, the chairman of the Commission, Justice Moshood Adeigbe (retd), said counsel to the petitioners had right to proceed by filing relevant proceedings to prove that order restraining parties from the land was disregarded.
Adeigbe however warned against disregard for court orders, saying any act capable of causing violence should not be encouraged by the parties.
He adjourned the matter till September 13, 2023 for the continuation of the matter.
Oba Abeeb Agbaje and four others had dragged Oba Akanbi and two others before the Commission, asking it to validate Ileogbo’s ownership of Ahoro Ileogbo and Okesaji.
