Gov Abiodun Appoints Olaniyi Ajibola, SSA Strategic Media

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has appointed former Press Secretary to the immediate past Deputy Governor of Osun State, Olaniyi Ajibola, as Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Strategic media.

Ajibola, a strategic communications expert and writer studied History/African Languages from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-ife, he also bagged Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism from International Institute of Journalism.

He worked as a Strategic Communication Officer with Girl-child Rights Awareness Initiative in Africa, Abuja, before moving to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) as a Correspondent and later joined Daily Post Online Newspapers.

He bagged award as the best Investigative Reporter for two consecutive years from NUJ, Osun State Council and was honoured with Meritorious Award in Information Management by the Osun State Government.

He was appointed as a Speech Writer to the former Osun State Deputy Governor and later confirmed as a Press Secretary/ Senior Special Assistant.

Ajibola, was a former member of the Students’ Representatives Council, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-ife, representing his Faculty at the Students’ Parliament before he was elected as the Chairman of Electoral Commission/ Acting President of the Students’ Union.

He was the former Chairman of the Correspondents’ Chapel, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Osun State Council after serving as the Secretary

He was a member of Reconciliation Committee, spearheaded by the former Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, which resolved crisis that rocked Osun NUJ Council in 2016.

He was the Chairman, Revitalization Committee, that changed the face of Osun NUJ Council in 2020, which earned him another award of meritorious service by the Council.

Ajibola, an indigene of Ogun State, is married with lovely children.
