Pastor Tunde Bakare set to ignite Christian Youth for Nation Building
Youth participation and active involvement on critical issues affecting the development and growth of the country is very low compared with other developing and developed clime. Despite boasting one of the largest youth populations in the world at 70 percent of the entire population, Nigeria still lags far behind in Youth Inclusion in governance and development.

This challenge is an area that renowned and fiery Christian minister, Teacher, Lawyer, Author, and activist, Pastor Tunde Bakare will be dealing with at the forthcoming largest gathering of Young on the continent of Africa in 2023, The Arise Congress taking place at Baptist International Convention Centre (BICC), Lufuwape Town, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, from Wednesday, September 6th to Saturday, September 9th, 2023.

The well-known Founder of The Latter Rain Assembly (End-Time Church) now known as The Citadel Global Community Church (CGCC) which he started on 1st April 1989 and is currently the Serving Overseer of the church is known for his fierce and committed belief in the Nigeria Development project. For years he has made his view known albeit in different forms on the social, economic, political, and religious challenges Nigeria is facing.

He was born into a Muslim family on November 11, 1954, in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria, and was converted to Christianity in 1974 at the age of 20. He has been involved in Christian ministry and social advocacy since his younger years. No doubt he is one man who understands issues surrounding youth development and empowerment.

He attended All Saints Primary School, Kemta, Abeokuta before proceeding to Lisabi Grammar School, Abeokuta. He later for his higher education, studied law at the University of Lagos between 1977 and 1980. Following his NYSC, Bakare was called to the Bar in 1981 and practiced law with Gani Fawehinmi Chambers, Rotimi Williams & Co., and Burke & Co., Solicitors. He later established his law firm Tunde Bakare & Co (El-Shaddai Chambers) in October 1984.

In May 1988, at the peak of his legal career, he was called into ministry and he pioneered the 1st Model parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God. Subsequently, he founded The Latter Rain Assembly (End-Time Church) on April 1st, 1989, and is currently the Serving Overseer of the church now known as The Citadel Global Community Church (CGCC).

Bakare presides over the Global Apostolic Impact Network (GAIN) – a network of churches, ministries, and kingdom businesses committed to advancing the Kingdom of God on earth. Dr. Bakare is also the President of Latter Rain Ministries, Inc. (Church Development Center) in Atlanta, GA, USA, a ministry committed to restoring today’s church to the scriptural pattern. As part of his endeavor to give back to humanity, he established The Family Heritage Foundation which gives scholarships to less privileged students from all walks of life within and outside the country.
In 2007, he established the International Centre for Reconstruction and Development (ICRD); a knowledge industry/think-tank devoted to re-engineering the social, economic, and political landscape of Nigeria in particular and Africa in general. He is the Convener of the Save Nigeria Group (SNG), a coalition of pro-democracy groups and individuals with a clear mandate to promote political knowledge and participation of Nigerian citizens through strategic activities. After decades of speaking truth to power and standing on the side of the oppressed, Dr. Bakare has extended the frontiers of his political involvement in a bid to Save Nigeria, Change Nigeria, and Make Nigeria Great again.

Pastor Bakare got involved in active politics in 2011 under the Congress for Progressive Change Party, (CPC) and was the running mate of General Muhammadu Buhari in the 2011 Presidential Elections. He however remains one of Nigerians’ respected Christian ministers and development advocates with a large media presence.
Pastor Tunde Bakare is married to Mrs. Olayide Bakare and their union is blessed with five Children. In recognition of his years of exploits and global impact in ministry, Pastor Bakare was honoured with a Doctor of Ministry degree by Indiana Christian University.

The scores of young people from all over Africa that will be attending this congress will be privileged to not just listen to him but to interact with him and develop action plans that will further ignite them to arise and make an impact in their generation and the generation to come.
