Amidst funfair mesmerism at the inaugural ceremony of the elected Governor of Osun State,Senator Ademola Adeleke, Some Members of the Osun State National Union Of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) were said to have invaded the union Secretariat
where two of its members were ruthlessly beaten in a move to take over some motor parks from the executive members of the union who were loyal to the immediate past Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola at the state level.

The violent looking angry members who stormed the state Secretariat of the union, threw the place to a theatre of war as they inflicted injuries on the state financial Secretary of the union, Mr. Sunday Akinwale with cutlasses and other dangerous weapons while one pregnant woman working in the state Secretariat of the union identified simply as Doyin was stripped naked and got her cloth torn.

The trouble makers who stormed the state union Secretariat at Sadiat hotel area of Osogbo in the afternoon of the day, also unleashed terror on the staff met on ground and locked them in the office while the pregnant woman and the financial Secretary mercilessly beaten, are presently being attended to in nearby hospitals.

Also, the secretary of the union, Mr. Osundiya Akinsola narrowly escaped being killed as he was rescued by whiskers out of the Secretariat.

It was gathered that, it was the prompt intervention of the security operatives who stormed the troubled scene and appealed to the warring party to give peace a chance, that led to opening of doors for those earlier locked in the offices of the Secretariat.

After the persuasion however, they reportedly left the venue but chased away, all the staff working in the place.

When they left the place, they equally stormed Ilesha- Osogbo, Oke-fia, Aregbe and Old garage and Gbongan motor parks where they wrestled powers from those administering affairs of the places.

In the process however, three police officers who said to be on ground for peace maintanance said. to have sustained serious injuries from the attackers and that, they are also being taken to an hospital for treatment.

During the fracas, they shot indiscriminately into the air to scare passengers who were at the garages to board vehicles and equally chased away the union officials at the parks.

Meanwhile, the windscreen of Toyota Sienna of the state financial Secretary was reportedly broken and shattered beyond repairs by the hoodlums.

Narrating his ordeal to our reporter in Osogbo the state secretary of the union accused one Alowonle as the union member that led the attackers into the state Secretariat and explained that, the inhuman attackers started with the untoward acts right from the venue of the swearing in ceremony when they started throwing poor waters at them and removing their caps before later came to laid siege at the union Secretariat.

According to him, ” I escaped the attack by security operatives who whisked me away while responding to my distress calls. Infact, the wounded secretary and the woman battered are presently in undisclosed hospitals receiving treatments”.

Speaking from his hiding place , he appealed to the new administration in the state to call them to order for peace to reign within the union.

In an another development,some members of the South West security outfit co-named Amotekun in the state were molested by armed thugs at the venue of the event but later technically withdrew themselves out of the stadium to escaped being lynched by them.

Speaking on the matter, the state field commander of the outfit confirmed the story.
Meanwhile, a top police officer who preferred anonymity and who was at the seen where the policemen were injured confirmed the development as all efforts to speak with the police public relations officer, Mrs Yemisi Opalola proved abortive.
