Osun Assembly, KDI To Sign MOU On E-Parliament
The Osun State House of Assembly in furtherance of its commitment to be more open and accountable through ICT will on Tuesday 26th of April, 2022 sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to upgrade its website to aan E-parliament platform.
The State House of Assembly in a statement stated that after the signing of the MOU, legislative information will be widely and readily available to the citizens, aimed at increasing accountability, transparency and openness by creating a high-powered web portal.
Kimpact Development Initiative (KDI) will support the 7th Assembly under the leadership of RT. Hon. Timothy Owoeye in upgrading the current legislative website to a world class E-parliament at no cost to the State Assembly.
KDI is expected to build the E-parliament as an interactive platform that will also help citizens and residents of Osun to keep track of bills under the legislative process and those passed among other features.
The concept of E-parliament will involve the application of modern information communication tools and standard across the activities of the State Assembly, this will in turn make the legislative body perform their primary functions of law-making, representation and oversight more effectively.
The “E” will be about “effectiveness” and “electronics” which will foster the development of an equitable and inclusive information society.
