The Governor of Osun State , Alh. Gboyega Oyetola has expressed his appreciation to the people of the state and the entire members of his party, All Progressives Congress (APC) for the show of love and admiration exhibited throughout the duration of his Strategic Engagement tour to all the thirty local governments and Area Office, in the state.
In a press statement signed by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters, Oluomo Sunday Akere in Osogbo last night, Gov. Oyetola gave all aduration to God almighty for the peaceful manner in which the tour which took him round the nooks and crannies of the state went without any crisis or breakdown of law and order.
Quoting him ” the manner in which you all trooped out to receive me without rancour or disagreement shows clearly that we are truly Omoluabi to the core because we never gave room for provocation while not allowing any unethical conduct from any quarters to scare us or shake your believe in our ability to continue to provide effective leadership. Genuine democrats and progressives we are, genuine democrats and progressives we will continue to be”.
While admonishing all members to go out on Saturday to vote for him as the flagbearer of our party in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state, Gov. Oyetola implored the party members to jealously guide their party membership slips and desist from giving it to anyone or exchanging it for any pecuniary gain.
“We also appeal to the security agencies especially the Police and DSS to support us in our continuous drive to ensure peaceful coexistence and sustainance of law and order in the state. We will never allow the desire of some people to create the impression of chaos and breakdown of law and order in the state to prevail. Our constitutional responsibility is to provide security and welfare to our people and we will never fail in the discharge of these responsibilities”.
In conclusion, we pledge our commitment to support the National Primary Election Committee sent from Abuja in ensuring the successful conduct of their assignment in the Three Hundred and Thirty Two (332) wards of the state without rift or rancour.
