Osun Assembly Confirms House Of Assembly Service Commission Nominees
Osun State House of Assembly has confirmed the governor Gboyega Oyetola’s nominees for State of Osun House of Assembly Service Commission members.
The governor’s nominees were confirmed on Monday at the Plenary of the State House of Assembly Osogbo.
Earlier, the State lawmakers has adopted the report of Ad-hoc Committee of the Screening of Governor’s nominees for the position of members of House of Assembly Service Commission.
The motion for the adoption of the report was moved by the Deputy Majority Leader Hon. Kunle Akande and seconded by Hon. Wale Adedoyin representing Ilesa West State Constituency respectively.
The governor’s nominees were later confirmed after the confirmation motion moved by the Majority leader Hon. Maroof Olanrewaju and seconded by Hon. Nasir Olateju representing Orolu/ Irepodun State Constituency respectively.
In his remarks, the Speaker of the Parliament Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye said House can proceed with the swearing in of the 2 members of the State House of Assembly Service Commission.
He backs the House of Assembly action’s with Section 3 and 5(1) State of Osun law 2016 as amended.
According to him, “Anytime from now House of Assembly permit to swearing in the 2 nominees as Commissioner 1 and Commissioner 2 of the State House of Assembly Service Commission respectively”.
Meanwhile, the state lawmakers continued with 5th Alterations bill 2022 on 1999 Constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended.
He ordered the Clerk of the House Mr. Simeon Amusan to transmit all the considerations of the Constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended to National Assembly immediately.
