Court Remands Siblings For Attempted Murder
A Magistrates’ Court in Ota, Ogun on Friday ordered that two brothers charged with attempted murder be remanded in a correctional facility.
The police charged Rasheed, 35, and Kunle Osho,48, with conspiracy and attempted murder.
Magistrate A.O. Adeyemi ordered the brothers should be remanded pending legal advice from the Ogun Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
Adeyemi adjourned the case until May 2 for DPP advice.
Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Insp E. O. Adaraloye told the court that the suspects and others at large committed the offense on Jan. 11 at Adekoyeni Village via Atan, Ota.
Adaraloye alleged that the brothers and their accomplices slashed their victim, Shodiya Tajudeen, with a cutlass.
He also said that the suspects used sticks to hit Tajudeen and also poured fuel on him.
The prosecutor said that the offense contravened the provisions of sections 320 and 324 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun,2006.
They pleaded not guilty to the charge.
