The National Centre for Technology Management (NACETEM), an Agency of the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology, admits over 100 students into its Postgraduate Diploma in Technology Management programme for the 2020/2021 academic session on Saturday, 30/01/2021.

The Postgraduate Diploma in Technology Management programme is designed to deepen the understanding of participants on how to deploy appropriate technology to solving societal problems which will ultimately bring about sustainable development.

CityMirrorNews reports that the programme, which has been running for over two decades, is one of the several cutting edge capacity building activities of NACETEM.

At the orientation programme for the newly admitted students on Saturday, the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer, Engineer Professor Okechukwu Ukwuoma, ably represented by the NACETEM Southwest Coordinator, Mrs MaryAnn Onyejekwe, he encouraged the students to operate with an open mind and take full advantage of the opportunities which the programme offers them.

In his words “I want to encourage you to maximize the array of opportunities inherent in this programme. It is an eye-opener to otherwise neglected areas of immense opportunities in our society. To this end, be open-minded as you go through the programme”.

To allay the fear of disruption in the event of a likely lockdown because of the second wave in the country, the Postgraduate Diploma Coordinator of the Lagos Study Centre, Dr Mirabel Omoruyi said the Agency has put in place a very effective and efficient virtual technology that will allow the programme run unimpeded.

In addition to the virtual facility, the Head, Technology Management Education and Training Department of the Agency, Dr Maruf Orewole said ‘interaction with our students is not limited to lecture days alone; it runs throughout the week via technological platforms already put in place’.

The 2020/2021 edition of the programme has an array of professionals from all walks of life. This is an indication of how robust interactions in the class will be.
