Prolific Writer, YEMCO Launches Book To Mark Birthday

The President of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, Mass Communication Alumni Association (MAOS), Osun chapter, Mr Sanusi Olayemi popularly called YEMCO, on Wednesday said his dream was to impact the society positively with the right values and help to promote reading culture.

YEMCO , a political strategist and public affairs analyst, said this while celebrating his birthday with the launch of a book ‘Victim of Trust’, in Osogbo, Osun State capital.

He told CityMirrorNews that the 16-chapter book would impact positively on the life of readers

He said it was on the effects of bad habits , especially jealousy, envy , rivalry, rife among women who are in polygamous marriage.

“My book is inspired by real life experiences that I have come across among women especially those who are in polygamous marriage. Polygamy is a practice, many people, especially in modern-day Africa, regard as despicable.

“Its desperation of a typical Africa women , married to a polygamist, is to ensure that her child excels above the children of other wives in the family.

“The sort of contest and rivalry, rife among women who are polygamous marriages, form the themes of this story, he said.

Speaking at the event , a lawmaker representing representing Osogbo, Olorunda, Orolu and Irepodun federal constituency, Honourable Olubukola Oyewo , commended the author of the book for impacting positively in the life of the students.

Oyewo, popularly known as BUKOY urged parents and guardians to invest in the education of their children.

Oyewo reminded parents that quality of education is the only worthy legacy they could give to their children just as he implored them to invest their resources in their children’s education since they play major roles in education of their wards

He expressed concern about the attitude of some parents to shirk the responsibility toward the upbringing of their children which according to him has led to the increased indiscipline among some of the school children.

Echoing a similar views, Mrs Susana Akinsola , Propritness, Divine Favour College, Osogbo, attributed waywardness of some students to lack of parental care.

She advised students to shun violence, drug, Cultism and other vices in order to excel in their academic activities and become useful citizens.

According to her , these vices are capable of derailing their dreams and aspirations to become very great in life.

CityMirrorNews reports that apart from the book launch, the prolific writer also organized quiz Competition for Secondary School Students with the Unity School, Osogbo emerged winner.

He also recognized and honoured some Youths with awards of excellence for their contribution to the development of society among the Awardees is the National President of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree Alumni Association, Deacon Adenrele Olalekan Adegboye.
