MAPOLY Rector Cautions New Students Against Cultism

Dr Adeoye Odedeji, Acting Rector, Moshood Abiola Polythecnic (MAPOLY), Abeokuta , has cautioned newly admitted students of the institution against cultism.

Odedeji gave the caution during the virtual matriculation and oath-taking ceremony for the 2020/2021 students on Thursday.

He said that the polytechnic disallowed cultism, examination malpractice and other activities capable of bringing its name to disrepute.

”We have zero tolerance for activities that do not promote learning, we don’t tolerate indecent dressing and drug abuse.

”I urge our new students to be mindful of the association or society they join while on campus,” he said.

Odedeji described the polytechnic as a reference point in entrepreneurial, scientific and technological education in the country.

”The quality of training we give here has helped our students to excel in their various fields.

” As an institution, we shall continue to give hope and strength to the younger generation,” he said.

He further described MAPOLY as an institution with no fewer than 40 years of rich academic history and tradition of distinction.

According to him, the institution will soon commence degree programmes in affiliation with Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye.

He said that the institution’s skill acquisition, vocational training and entrepreneurial development centres would soon become operational.
