Former Military Administrator Condemns Killing Of Farmers In Osun, Sues For Peace

The people of Ife-Modakeke community in Osun state have been admonished to continue to live peacefully with one another in order for meaningful progress and development to continue to manifest in the area.
A former military administrator of Osun state, Colonel Theophilus Bangboye (Rtd)
gave the admonition on Tuesday while featuring on a radio program in Osogbo, Osun State capital.
Bangboye who governed the state between August 1998 and May1999 explained that Ife-Modakeke crisis was a major challenge he met on ground when he was posted to Osun state as a military administrator.
He added that it took power of prayer and the grace of God to bring peace back to the area.
He thanked God for the peace that is prevailing in the area and the state at large.He then urged the people to maintain the peace.
He said,”Without peace, we can not move ahead”.
Reacting to the resent killing of five farmers at Toro village in Ife -Modakeke area, the rtd military officer explained that he was confused when he heard the report.
He however commended HRM, The Ooni of Ife and Ogunsua of Modakek for jointly condemning the dastardly act and for assuring the people that it is not a resurgence of the long resolved crisis.
Commenting on the level of development of the state, the rtd conel expressed his satisfaction with the level of development the state.
He commended the present and the past administrations in the state for their contributions in one way or the other towards the development of the state.
