The Commissioner counseled that all hands must be on deck to enforce strict adherence to Covid-19 protocols in the nooks and crannies of the State.

He thereafter commended the Environmental Health Officers on the vital role they have consistently been playing during the decontamination exercise last year, adding that they should not relent in the discharge of their duty this year.

Speaking on the challenges facing Environmental Health Officers, the Secretary Environmental Health Officers Association of Nigeria, Osun State Chapter, Sanitarian Femi Ola pointed out “there is inadequate manpower for the enormous task, lack of dump site among other challenges”.

He appealed to the State Government to allocate more funds to the Environmental and Sanitation sector, saying that approved dump sites in all LGAs and LCDAs are also very paramount in order for them to deliver their professional mandate and promote healthy living among the State residents.
