Panic In OSBC Over COVID-19 Cases

There is palpable tension at Osun State Broadcasting Corporation, (OSBC), Oke Baale, Osogbo, over the reported cases of the coronavirus among the staff of the Organisation.

A source from OSBC who spoke under the condition of anonymity said that most high rank officials of the Organisation and driver tested positive of the Covid-19.

It was gathered that three staff of OSBC have been reportedly tested positive for the Covid-19.

CityMirrorNews also gathered that head of a unit in the station is among the new result released today by NCDC.

The staff called on the state government on the need to conduct Covid-19 test for all the staff of the organisation in order to contain the spread of the pandemic in the state.

According to the source, “There’s the need to conduct the test for all immediate staff of the affected officials in the office and at her home.

“One of our staff Folakemi Alone died recently of alleged covid19 complications.

“There’s the need to urgently fumigate OSBC premises.

“The station is infected with the virus and there is the need to safe the life’s of the staff.

While reacting , the state Commissioner for Health, Dr Rafiu Isamotu said he doesn’t know identify of those who are tested positive.

“I don’t know the identity of those who are tested positive, my own is that our officials take samples and anybody that test positive will be contacted

“Those that we believe that can successfully isolate themselves at home we allow them to stay at home.

“Those that can’t successfully self isolate we will bring them to our isolation centres. So I don’t know who and who are tested positive.

“The ethics of my profession will not allow me to mention who and who are tested positive.

“We do contact tracing whenever we have people test positive, we advise, we go there to sensitize them and that is what we have been doing.

He however, advised the residents of the state to always adhere strictly to COVID-19 preventive measures so as to curb the spread of the virus in the state.

“My advice for the people of Osun is to cooperate with us, and help the state government by always abide by Covid-19 protocol guidelines by washing their hands and make use of facemask regularly.
