POLITICAL MISSION

Omooba Dotun Babayemi has chosen to evolve a re-engineering process in the politics of his country, with particular reference to his home State (Osun). He has a clear mission to effect enduring changes in the Governance of Osun State as such affects its economy, social integration indigenes and residents within its borders, security and welfare of the people and their political advancement. This is the platform or the parameter on which his bid for the governorship of Osun State is anchored.

The Governorship aspirant is not in the race as a fresh jumper in the politics of Osun State. He has been a visible player in the West Senatorial District since 2011.

CONTINUITY OF IDEAS

Oyedotun Babayemi’s political endeavour is beyond adventurism, rather, his, is a mission to ensure enduring political and public oriented leadership that is humanist in all facets.

As a candidate for Osun West Senatorial District in 2019, He anchored his campaign manifesto on strategic solution delivery through the maximization of human and financial resources, using enabling technology as a driver of development in diverse environments.

Dotun Babayemi could not realise his Senatorial ambition in 2019 in spite of his well thought out manifesto and demonstrated capacity to execute it. He however did nor allow it to derail him from synergizing with his constituents, to whom his development agenda is focused without political office and patronage, the upwardly mobile technocrat and business executive sustained a programme of action that culminated in a number of projects devoted to human welfare, empowerment and development with key focus on health and education. The politician is prepared to soldier on, and this time, on the highest executive seat in the administration of Osun State.

ALAAFIA DOTUN

The Health Initiative was designed to provide medical services for natives and residents of all Local Governments that constitute Osun West Senatorial District of the State from 2017, over 350,000 constituents have benefited from ALAAFIA DOTUN, with more than 45,000 Recommended Glasses distributed to beneficiaries.

The Health Intervention programme also embraced sponsorship of over 420 Surgeons to treat life threatening medical issues that afflict indigent victims across the State.

Dotun Babayemi commitment to Education, especially for Indigents but brilliant students has navigated a greater future for Osun State. More than 450 students have had their university education sponsored and are proud graduates of various disciplines in the last ten years. It is interesting that the two key features of his political programme have remained sustainable since his debut in politics.

Dotun Babayemi’s political agenda is meant to encapsulate the Dictum of He who the cap fits… and spell out its letter to the end “…Let him wear it…”

DOTUN BABAYEMI FACTS FILE

Born a Prince-Royal, on December the 5th, 1966 to Dr Solomon and Ajoke Babayemi, his father was the 8th Olufi of Gbongan in Ayedaade Local Government Area of Osun state.

His royalty was a leadership training of some sort for a young man in search of a golden fleece.

With a parental background that exposed him to the allures, privileges, challenges and responsibilities of monarchy in a native Yoruba setting, Omooba Dotun BABAYEMI used the opportunities and obligations derivable from such a historical and cultural background to build a type of profile required for a successful private and public endeavours.

Life within and outside the palace unconsciously prepared the politician to

chart the path and cross the hurdles that laid along it for a successful landing.
