Oyo State Monarch, Asigangan of Igangan Joins Ancestors
The Asigangan of Igangan land in Oyo State, Oba Abdul-Azeez Adewuyi, Aribiyan II, died in the early hours of Tuesday.
This was announced by the Chairman of Ibarapa North local government area of the state, Lateef Akorede, on his Facebook page.
The council boss wrote, “I received the tragic news of the demise of our king, Oba Abdul- Azeez Adeoye Adewuyi, Aribiyan II, Gbadewolu 1, the Asigangan of Igangan land who died early hours of today. This is a great loss for Ibarapa land and indeed the Yoruba race.
“We’ll miss your wisdom sir, your leadership, your love for this land, your endless support for anything Ibarapa. Indeed you were a great king that has the love of his people at heart. May your soul Rest In Peace.”
This death comes barely ten days after the demise of another Oyo monarch, Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Oladunni Oyewumi, Ajagungbade III.
