Oluwo Celebrates 5th Coronation Anniversary, Says Iwo Has Witnessed Unprecedented Development

The Kingdom of Iwo, the seat of Oluwo of Iwo in Iwo Local Government Area of Osun State came alive with colourful aplomb and elegance on Saturday 16th January as His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr) AbdulRasheed Adewale Akanbi Telu I, celebrated his 5th coronation anniversary.

Royal fathers across Yoruba Land and in the North, political heavyweights from Osun State and beyond, captains of industry across Nigeria and well-wishers from Canada and United State of America were all on ground to identify with Oluwo on this epoch-making occasion.

Among the traditional rulers who came to celebrate with Oluwo according to CityMirrorNews Correspondent are;
Olofa of Offa, His Royal Majesty, Oba Mufutau Muhammed Gbadamosi Ajagungbade I Esuwoye II, Alapomu of Apomu, Olusin and Aafaji, Emir of Bichi, in Kano State, Nasiru Ado Bayero among others.

Speaking during the event the elated Oluwo who appreciated the guests for deeming it necessary to identify with him said within the five years of his reign , Iwoland has witnessed unprecedented development, adding that his subjects were living happily and healthy.

Oba Akanbi used the occasion to pray for an end to Covid-19 pandemic, just as he implored Nigerians to adhere strictly to COVID-19 preventive measures by National Center for Disease Control (NCDC).

The Oluwo of Iwo who expressed optimism that at no distance time, the issue of Coronavirus would become a thing of the past said that anybody with COVID-19 virus that enters Iwo community will be automatically healed.

Oba Akanbi disclosed that the monarchs were God’s ambassadors on earth, hence, the healing power inherent in them.

He said, “God has bestowed power on kings to legislate in his behalf on earth and I want to thank God that he has been supporting me since I became the king of this ancient town.

“Within the 5 years of my reign, the community has witnessed a series of development. My subjects are living happily and healthy.

“We did not have any issue of coronavirus. Anybody with COVID-19 that enters Iwo will be automatically healed.

“I pray for you as I am celebrating 5 years on the throne that all stagnations, poverty, and sickness of all my subjects shall come to an end.

“By extension, the same way that none of my subjects contract coronavirus, I pray that the pandemic will cease in all parts of this country and our economy will bounce back.”

Oba Olofa in a short goodwill message implored residents to support the monarch in his bid to develop the community.

Oba Gbadamosi who described the Oluwo of iwoland as a man of action, fashion and a buff for ancestral and cultural heritage said Oluwo has brought unprecedented development to the town within the five years of his reign.

Olofa of Offa said: “I congratulate the people of Iwo for being blessed with the leadership of Oba AbdulRasheed. He has shown what he can do and what he stands for in the last five years on the throne and I am sure they (people of Iwo) are lucky to have him. I pray for many more fruitful and peaceful reign for him”

“Since the installation of Oluwo of iwoland Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi, Many development and progress has happened to the beautiful town, like the New approved of Iwo Federal College of Education, Telu Roundabout square and others, construction and rehabilitation of Iwo/ Osogbo road.

“I want to enjoin you all to support Oluwo in his bid to transform the state. Let use this opportunity to appreciate the Governror of Osun, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola the work well done. I was very happy to see the Governor has commenced the construction of Iwo/Osogbo road. May God Almighty continue to be with him. Please my good people of Iwo, I want you continue to support Oluwo of Iwo and Governor Gboyega Oyetola.

May God Almighty continue be with Oluwo of iwoland and Pour his life and all the people of iwoland with inner peace of mind.

Echoing a similar view, the Emir of Bichi, in Kano State, Nasiru Ado Bayero and the commended Oluwo for prioritising the welfare of his subjects since ascending the throne.

The Emir also sought support for the State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola to further endear development to the state as a whole.
