By Ayobami Agboola, Osogbo
The league of Imams and Alfas in Yorubaland including Edo and Delta States has described the death of Oba Jimoh O Ajagungbade, the Soun of Ogbomoso land as a colossal loss to not just the Muslim ummah but the entire Yoruba race.
The monarch who answered the call of his creator on Sunday 12th of December, 2021 was described as a pious muslim who used his royalty to promote the tenets of Islam in his domain and beyond.
The league in a condolence message issued by the Wazeerul Mumineen of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta States, Sheikh Abdulateef Adekilekun and made available to CityMirrorNews in Osogbo,on Tuesday, said the monarch would be greatly missed for his gait, royalty, wealth of experience and overall contributions for the entrenchment of Islam among his people.
The Wazeerul Mumineen said Allah blessed the nonagenarian who reigned for 48 years before he died at the age of 98.
The statement said the late monarch’s father Oba Bello Ajagungbade reigned between 1916-1940.
Sheikh Abdulateef Adekilekun noted that the progressive policies of Oba Ajagungbade yielded many positive fruits.
The League thereby prayed to Allah to repose the soul of the departed king and grant him aljannah firdaos.
The League equally pray to Allah to comfort the family and the ummah left behind by the Royal father.
Stressing that all beings would definitely taste death at an appointed time, the statement enjoined all Muslims to live according to the dictates of Allah here on earth before they would be called to account for their deeds.
