Comrade Ayuba Shamdung Jepla Re-elected NULGE National Auditor

Plateau born unionist, Comrade Ayuba Shamdung has been re-elected as the National Auditor of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE, for another four years in office.

The election, which climaxed the 7th Quadrennial National Delegates Conference of the union, held at the Haven Event Center, G.R.A, Ikeja, Lagos, on Wednesday, 6th January, 2021 saw the emergence of other members of the executive that would pilot the affairs of the union for the next four years.

The event was attended by the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige, Registrar of Trade Unions, National President of NLC, Comrade Ayuba Wabba mni, and National President of JUSUN, Comrade Marwan Mustapha.

Comrade Ahmed Labbo, Ciroman Kotorkoshi and Sarkin Yakin Samawa emerged as the National President.

Speaking to news men shortly after the election, Comrade Ayuba Shamdung appreciated the support and prayers accorded him by the entire workers and people of Plateau State before and during the elections, assuring that they would all work as a team towards improved welfare package for Local Government workers across the Country.

He further assured that NULGE at the National level will not compromise the interest of Council workers while promising to put in his best in the overall interest of Local Government employees.

He pleaded with the opponent’s who lost the contest to be magnanimous in defeat and embrace the outcome of the elections in good faith saying that the election was free, fair and transparent.

“The unity and understanding displayed by all and sundry shows the level of maturity of the Nigeria labour unions ability to accept defeat and accept to work together for the benefit of NULGE.” He said.
