Osun Monarch, Oluwo Celebrates ‘God Festival’, Says He Has Authority Over All Deities

It was a celebration galore at the palace of Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, as the paramount ruler celebrated maiden edition of God Festival.

CityMirrorNews reports that Oba Akanbi had set aside every 9th of November for the celebration of the greatness of God in his kingdom.

Oluwo had severally distinguished himself to be liberal monarch without affiliation to any secret society or confraternity.


He said the festival is a neutral gathering of people, irrespective of religious and ethnic attachments, purposely to acknowledge God for His guidance, protection, mercy, provisions, safety, stability, preservation and strengthen individual despite all challenges confronting the world.

Speaking at the maiden edition of the festival today November 9, 2021, Oba Akanbi who appreciated the uniqueness of Almighty God in his life said that he cannot be a slave to any deity.

He insisted that celebrating deities belittled traditional rulers, noting that only God is worthy of worship by monarchs.

The Oluwo said: “A king must celebrate the King of all Kings. A king must not celebrate lesser gods but God almighty. I cannot be second-in-command to any deity.

“I am not a slave to any deity or idol, I have authority over them all. I am representing the real Kabiyesi who is the God of all.

“I choose to celebrate that great Servant that serves me day and night. This is an innovation which is accepted by God. I don’t need it to be accepted by men.

“Only Kings in Yoruba land that they greet the same way they greet God “Kabiesi”. Who is the Kabiesi? Am I the Kabiesi? No, I am only representating Kabiesi who is the God of gods.

“I choose today to celebrate that great servant that serves me day and night that provides for my needs. The great father that we call God that secure us during our sleeping I thank him and give glory to him. Olodumare the God of all universe. I’m celebrating him today to do more.

Oluwo said that he cared not about what many might have said about his notion saying since they are not the ones he is worshiping.

“This is a new innovation that is accepted by God, I don’t care whether it’s accepted by man or not once it’s accepted by God I’m okay.

Also speaking the Akire of Ikire Ile
His Royal Majesty, Oba Olatunbosun olabamiji Abdulaziz, commended the Innovation of Oluwo describing it as nice notion aiming at showcasing the greatness of God .

Echoing a similar views, Prophet, Evangelist Samson Oluwamodede described the programme as a unique and wonderful one.

Evangelist Oluwamodede said he has traveled far and wide but he has never seen a programme which gives room for Muslims and Christians to converge under one roof and praising God together
