UNIOSUN VC Mourns Ibidapo-Obe

The Management of Osun State University under the leadership of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Labode Popoola Professor received with shock, the passing of Professor Oyewusi Ibidapo-Obe, OFR, a member of the planning committee for the establishment of Osun State University inaugurated in October 2006, member of the implementation committee for the establishment the University inaugurated in January 2007 and a pioneer member of the Governing Council of the University from December 2007 till June 2011. Professor Ibidapo-Obe died on Sunday, 3rd January 2021 after a brief illness.

A statement signed by the Vice-Chancellor recalled the wonderful deeds of Professor Oyewusi Ibidapo-Obe, during the establishment of Osun State University. He appreciated his inspirational and committed leadership in all his endeavours while here on earth. The Vice-Chancellor commiserated with the entire Ibidapo-Obe family, Ijesaland, State of Osun, University of Lagos and indeed Nigeria on behalf of the Council, Management, Staff and Students of Osun State University on the loss of this great scholar and humanist par excellence. We pray that his gentle soul will rest in perfect peace.
