Police Begin Manhunt As Kidnappers Abduct Two Chinese Nationals, Shot Two Guards In Osun

The Osun State Police Command on Tuesday said it has begun a manhunt for abductors of two Chinese nationals abducted by suspected kidnappers.
The two Chinese Nationals namely: Messrs Zhao Jian, aged 33yrs, and Wen, aged 50yrs were abducted at Okepa/Itikan Village, the gold mining site in Ifewara, Atakunmosa west local government area of Osun state.
CityMirrorNews gathered that the yet to be identified gunmen shot two of the private guards and they have been taken to the hospital for treatment
Confirming the incident, Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs Yemisi Opalola in a statement said that the police has commenced search of the abducted Chinese Nationals and possible arrest of the perpetrator.
The release reads; “Consequent upon the incident of 5th April, 2021 around 4:00pm, where a gang of criminals attacked and abducted two Chinese Nationals namely: Messrs Zhao Jian ‘m’ aged 33yrs, and Wen ‘m’ aged 50yrs at Okepa/Itikan Village, the gold mining site in Ifewara, State of Osun in which two (2) of the private guards were shot at and have been taken to the general hospital for treatment.
“Sequel to this report, the Commissioner of Police, CP Olawale Olokode immediately drafted a strong combined reinforcement of Police Tactical units, JTF, and other security outfits who have embarked on search/rescue operation of the two abducted Chinese persons and possible arrest of all the fleeing criminals.
CP Olokode, however, enjoined members of the public to support, co-operate, and collaborate with in fighting crime to bring it down to the barest minimum, by providing us with creditable and prompt information as he promise to rescue the abductees unhurt.
