Akeredolu Bags Aare Atunluse Oodua…Tasks Youths On Political Participation

Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has reaffirmed his commitment towards supporting and engaging the youth in order to maximise their potential and contribution positively to the society.

Governor Akeredolu made the disclosure on Saturday at the 3rd World Omoluabi Day of Festival and Award organised by Yoruba Council Of Youths in Ile Ife, Osun State.

According to him, the combination of the experience of political elders and the innovative ideas of youth was crucial to achieving good governance and sustainable development in the country.

Akeredolu, who was represented by the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Klick Konnect Networks, Chief (Dr) Alex Ajipe said that educated, vibrant and committed youths were the greatest assets of any given society.

He said, “Youth implies energy, ideas and innovation. Large businesses are being created by young people and I am positive that our youths have ideas and skills that can positively change our society.

“Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has distinguished himself in the area of good governance and laudable among of which is the significant inclusion of youths in the affairs of governance, I hope other political leaders in the nation will have the courage to emulate Arakunrin in this feat.

“I urge youths in the country to be steadfast and continue to demonstrate good character in their quest to make positive difference in governance.

“Show strong determination and draw inspirations from leaders who are selfless with positive ideas, policies and ideologies.”

Ajipe, who also visited the palace of Ooni of Ife, Oba Eniitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, however, commended the Arole Oodua for his giant stride in developing the ancient town through different youths initiatives .

Dignitaries at the programme included the Deputy Majority leader of the Senate, Senator Ajayi Boroffice, Hon. Shina Peller, the Federal House of Representatives member representing Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Iwajowa/Kajola Federal Constituency in Oyo State, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) in Osun, Wole Oyebamiji among others.
