Sallah: Oluga Charges Muslim Faithful To Pray Against COVID-19

A federal lawmaker, Mrs Taiwo Oluga, on Thursday felicitated with Muslim faithful on the celebration of eid-el Kabir, urging them to use the period to pray for an end to the novel Coronavirus pandemic.

Oluga, representing Irewole/ Isokan/ Ayedaade federal constituency, made the call in a Sallah message , she personally signed and made available to newsmen in Osogbo, Osun State capital.

She, however, urged citizens irrespective of their religious beliefs to use the occasion to embrace one and other for peace and unity of the nation.

According to the lawmaker, there was the need for Muslim faithful to raise up their voice in prayer for Allah to salvage the world from the deadly Coronavirus, saying it’s only divine intervention of God that can help the nation to scale through this trying period.

She said: “Eid-el-Kabir celebration calls for religious devotion, Islamic virtues of obedience, piety, faith in the will of Almighty Allah (SWT), sacrifice, uprightness and candour.

” I want to enjoin Muslim Faithful to use the festive period to pray to Almighty Allah to bring an end to the novel Coronavirus pandemic ravaging the whole world.

“All citizens irrespective of religious beliefs should also use the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir to embrace one and other for the peace , unity and progress of the country.

“The faithfuls should bring into bear, the tolerance taught by Prophet Muhammed,(SWT), adding that, helping the less privileged who are economically disadvantaged should also be taken into cognisance.

She therefore urged Muslims to celebrate with modesty and take all the precautionary measures put in place by the government in averting the spread of coronavirus pandemic seriously.
