Sallah: Be sacrificial In Your Dealings With Others – Osun NNPP Chairman Charges Muslims
As Muslims across the globe celebrate Sallah today, the chairman of New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Osun state chapter, Dr. Oluwatosin Odeyemi, has urged them to imbibe the sacrificial spirit of Allah which is the basis of this festival.
Odeyemi reminded them the meaning of Eid al-Adha – a Festival of Sacrifice, which commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son, Ishmael, to obey Allah.
He noted that the festival marks a show of faith and total submission to the will of Allah, hence, the need for every muslim to have strong faith in Allah and be ready to submit to His will.
Odeyemi, who doubled as the chairman, Forum of NNPP chairmen in Nigeria, also urged the muslim faithfuls to use the occasion to pray for the country for Allah to make a way out of the present economic quagmire being faced.
According to him, ‘As muslim faithfuls will gather together to seek Allah in one voice today, they should not forget to raise Nigeria to God for mercy.
‘Our leaders; both at local, state and federal, need prayers to lead us aright. We cannot fold our arms and allow things go out of place. Nigeria is presently passing through a tough phase’
Odeyemi also urged the political class to rule with the fear of God. He reminded them that they will definitely give account of whatever they do one day, hence, the need for them not to take the masses for granted.
He stressed that if masses can pray with a submissive heart, Allah will give them a government that can alleviate their sufferings which he hinted only New Nigeria Peoples Party can give.
He prayed that Allah will replace all their sorrows and problems with happiness and abundance as He replaced Ishmael with a ram for Prophet Ibrahim.
