“I Can Never Doubt Bisi Akande’s APC Reconciliatory Committee”, Says Segun Abraham
By Niyi Olutunde, Akure
Dr. Segun Abraham, a governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress in Ondo state, has dissociated himself from the purported statement credited to some leaders of APC in the Ondo state Unity Group that former Osun State Governor, Chief Bisi Akande, has no credibility to lead the committee.
The group also alleged that Akande was on the payroll of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
However, Abraham, in a statement personally signed by him on Wednesday in Akure and made available to journalists, said that the vote of no confidence passed on Chief Akande by the group was unacceptable, frivolous and unpatriotic.
“The allegation levied against him is unfounded, frivolous and lack any credibility.
“This was not discussed at the Unity Forum meeting which I attended. What was discussed was illegitimate corrupt State Advisory Council put together by Akeredolu in which Chief Pius Akinyelure was rail rolled into this deceptive contraction without asking for the two resolutions on dissolution of APC executives in the state and all inclusive government.
He, however, urged the party leaders who passed the vote of no confidence on Chief Akande to publicly apologize to him saying “he (Akande) is forever our pride in Yoruba Land and Nigeria at large.”
Dr Olusegun Abraham advised the leadership of Unity Group to join hands with with Chief Bisi Akande led Reconciliation Committee if truly they are committed to unity and peace in Ondo State APC.
Abraham described Akande as an incorruptible dogged and rare breed politician who mentors new generation leaders for future challenges.
According to him, Akande, as former Governor of Osun state, did not collected most of his legitimate allowances because he was committed to making Osun State the best place to live in.
The statement reads, “I can never question or doubt his capacity or competence as the Chairman APC National Reconciliation Committee because he is one of the few leaders who have all that is required to assist the party to resolve the crisis at both national and state levels.
“I will never sit down and allow anyone to abuse Baba Akande instead I will leave politics maintain my conscience and integrity”
Abraham, therefore, assured Chief Akande of the maximum cooperation of Ondo state APC leaders and members in his efforts to return peace to the party.
