Breaking: Radio Nigeria Correspondent , Wasiu Ajadosu Emerges Osun NUJ Chairman
The Osun State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) on Thursday conducted a bye-election where a new chairman was elected to run the affairs of the chapel till 2023.
CityMirrorNews reports that Comrade Wasiu Ajadosu of Radio Nigeria
was elected to run the affairs of the union for the next three years.
The NUJ Chairmanship position became vacant following the appointment of the former Chairman, Comrade Kehinde Ayantunji who was appointed to take up the position of Senior Special Assistance to Governror Gboyega Oyetola on Students’ Affairs and Social Mobilization.
CityMirrorNews reports that Ajadosu of Radio Nigeria polled 136 votes to emerge chairman, defeating his only rival, Mr Dele Ajayi of Uniq Fm , who polled 59.
Also Comrade Sesan Adeleke of federated chapel emerged as Vice Chairman unopposed.
CityMirrorNews also reports that the swearing in of the new elected officers was immediately conducted by Barrister Oyesiku Adelu alongside Barrister Laide Awolola in the presence of National Vice Chairman B zone, Cosmos Oni among others.
Reacting to his victory, Ajadosu promised to build on the progress and Development achieved by his predecessor, Ayantunji.
