Jegede Urges Muslims To Sustain Virtues Of Ramadan
By Niyi Olutunde, Akure
The candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the 2016 governorship election in Ondo state, Eyitayo Jegede has congratulated Muslims in the state for the successful completion of Ramadan.
While urging them to sustain the virtues of Ramadan, Jegede harped on the need for Muslims to remain steadfast and prayerful in the face of daunting socio-economic challenges.
The legal luminary, in a statement made available to journalists in Akure on Saturday said the import of the period of chastity should not be lost on them in their day-to-day relationship with God and fellow human beings.
He said, “I urge all the people of Ondo state across religious divide, to remain steadfast, prayerful and patriotic. The virtues of moderation, piety, regular supplication to Allah and being our brother’s keeper should subsist beyond the Ramadan. Beyond this, everyone should seek to contribute to rebuilding the state with renewed vigour.
As residents of Ondo state, and Nigerians , we must continue to strengthen the spirit of oneness, regardless of religious, ethnic, regional, and political diversities, for that is the only way to surmount our daunting challenges and build a greater state.”
