Eid-el-Fitri: Substitute Your 2020 Hajj With Generous Donations, Oluwo Tells Muslims
Oluwo of Iwoland, HIM Oba (Dr.) Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, has assured Nigerians to be optimistic amidst the ravaging hardship accompanying the dreaded corona virus in the world.
Oluwo charged Nigerians most especially the Muslims to substitute 2020 Hajj with generous donations to the less privileged in the society.
Disturbed by the effect of stay at home order as part of government’s policies at containing the spread of corona virus, Oluwo said devoted Muslims with financial capacity on annual pilgrim should substitute 2020 hajj for assisting others, noting nothing could be as rewarding like hajj than such.
Oba Akanbi described the current phase in the history of the world as surmountable, urging Nigerians to be steadfast in challenging the attached difficulty of the pandemic corona virus.
In a eid il fitri felicitation statement released by Oluwo through his press secretary, Alli Ibraheem, Oba Akanbi hinted on the difficulty of the moment while equally assuring Nigerians to be hopeful of better days ahead.
“Though, the current challenge invited by corona virus is worrisome but tough time don’t last most especially in Nigerian with focused government. I assure you of more fruitful years. Let’s be alive to our responsibilities as a responsible citizen”
“I will challenge all wealthy Nigerians to substitute your hajji for 2020 with lifting the vulnerable. No other religious service could match generous giving and donation in this fragile season of Covid 19”
“The world is ill. The illness is biting everyone. Aside, the effect on the economy and peoples standard of living is worrisome. Many have tried un extending helping hands. Those who are on annual hajji and those with intent to observe their first hajj should commit and substitute this year for helping others”
Oluwo tasked the Muslims to work hard while praying to God for divined assistance.
