Prioritise People’s Welfare, Adeleke Charges LG Chairmen

The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in Osun State, Prince Adebayo Adeleke popularly called Banik has charged local government chairmen in the state to always prioritise the welfare of Osun people above their personal interests.

Adeleke, who gave the charge while fielding questions from Journalists in his office in Osogbo said there was need for the council chairmen to impact the lives of the majority , as they are the people’s representatives in government.

The Commissioner for Local Government urged the council chairmen to always key into the four-point agenda of Governor Gboyega Oyetola led administration aimed at eradicating poverty and delivering the dividends of democracy to the grassroots.

He however enjoined them to always make themselves accessible to the people, just as he advised them to align with the state government’s policies and programmes.

He said: “I want to enjoin all the council chairmen to key into the four action plan of the governor, Mr Gboyega Oyetola led administration which is aimed at eradicating poverty, creating employment opportunities for youths , wealth creation, among others so as to deliver the dividends of democracy to the entire grassroots

Prince Adeleke, who condemned in totality the rumour making the round that, the local government Chairmen and the state government were not in good term, said, there is a cordial relationship between the two towards the upliftment of the state, saying there was never a time they were at loggerhead.

The Commissioner, also commended the entire people of the state for their unflinching support and cooperation saying Governor Oyetola is determined to bring dividends of democracy to the doorsteps of residents of the state.

He added that, Governor Oyetola would not relent in his efforts to ensure that the state remain habitable for the citizenry.

Describing Governor Oyetola as a God fearing man, Adeleke said in all what is important to Oyetola was how to take the state to the greater heights.
