Iwo Is Indebted To Governor Oyetola-Oluwo

The Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, has commended the Governor of Osun State, Mr Gboyega Oyetola for his unprecedented achievements in the state within the short period of time.
Oba Akanbi who described Governor Oyetola as a silent achiever said the Governror has performed tremendously well in terms of infrastructural development in the state.
Oba Akanbi stated that what the people of the ancient town of Iwo think could not be done in the next ten years had been done by the governor , saying Iwo is indebted to Governor Oyetola.
The prominent Nigerian monarch stated this while speaking on Tuesday, during the 8th-day Islamic ceremony of his late mother, Suheebat Akanbi and the 20th years remembrance of his late father, Kolawole Akanbi.
He noted that Governor Oyetola has fulfilled most of the electoral promises he made during his electioneering campaign, saying Oyetola is a man of his word .
He said: ” Governor Gboyega Oyetola is a man of his words. He has done what the people of the ancient town of Iwo think could not be done the next ten years. In fact Iwo is indebted to you, Mr Governor.
During electioneering campaign you promised to reconstruct Iwo Osogbo road. We requested for a Federal College of Education in Iwo and we are happy that all these promises are being kept, our Governor is a silent achiever.
On behalf of his community Oluwo commended Governror Oyetola for situating a Federal College of Education in Iwo. Saying “this singular decision has convinced me to do more and better in supporting the success of his administration.”
He thanked Osun State Governor Gboyega Oyetola for trusting the town’s ability to host the institution, saying “he has convinced us more. We’ll continue to support his dream for the state. The stage is for him, he should ride on. He’s a leader of reckon, very productive and defined. He should continue to count on our support as usual.”
“I hail you for the love you has for Iwo land and we have endorsed you for a second term in office.
“Thanks to Bola Tinubu – our leader in Yoruba land. No Yoruba leader has the power to lead Nigeria than Tinubu. Awolowo paid his price and it is time for Tinubu to be allowed.”
Speaking on the roles of parents in the success of their child, Oba Akanbi urged parents on the need to always train their child in Godly way.
Oba Akanbi who said he would continue to remember the roles her late mother played in his life when he was alive urged parents and guardians to bring up their wards in a way that will promote peaceful coexistence and to become successful child in life.
Oba Akanbi also charged children to take care of their mother adding that he showed love to his mother during her lifetime and enjoined others to emulate him.
“I love my mother and took care of her. I advise that you also take care of your mother, ” he said. “I can’t have a wife because I don’t have time. I am here to reform Iwo like my father and I am following his steps.”
“I am certain that I will be remembered for good by the time I leave the throne at 120 years because I use my money, energy and every other resources to serve the kingdom,” he said in Yoruba.
“My father was good at fighting for people’s right and that’s why I defend myself anytime anyone want to cheat me or my people.”
In his remark, Oyetola promised to continue to assist Iwo as governor.
“I am happy for the monarch and I pray that his mother makes paradise. My mother’s prayer made me a governor today. We are working on major roads in Osun. Osogbo to Iwo road is now in good shape with the support of the federal government and brought a college of education here again.”
An Islamic cleric, Muhydeen Bello, who delivered the lecture said death is inevitable, every should shall have a taste of death.
The programme was attended by Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun and representatives of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu (Ondo), Governor Seyi Makinde (Oyo), APC leader, Bola Tinubu, among others.
