Breaking! Facebook Comment: Osun Govt Discontinue With Zirhid Akinloye’s Trial As Oyetola Intervene
The Governor of Osun State, Mr Gboyega Oyetola has directed the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr Femi Akande, and Ministry of Justice to discontinue with the trial of a Facebook user, Zirhid Akinloye, who is facing four count-charge, bordering on peddling of falsehood on the social media against the government.
CityMirrorNews gathered from the government circle that Governor Oyetola has ordered the release of the People Democratic Party social media analyst, having exhibited remorse and the need not to have detained for the period of the next round of lockdown.
CityMirrorNews further gathered that the state government has decided to stop the trial with immediate effect.
He will be released anytime before the commencement of the next round of the lockdown.
The governor, according to the source, was magnanimous with the action but warned that there are federal and state laws against spreading of false information, coupled with the recently-signed Osun Covid-19 Regulations 2020 which forbids peddling of falsehood on the virus.
