We Desire Taking RUGIPO To Global Standard, Says Banji Alabi

The landmark achievements being recorded at the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, Ondo state, within the last few months has been attributed to the synergy that exists between the governing board and the school management.

Chairman, Governing Council of the institution, Mr. Banji Alabi stated this at the weekend while speaking with journalists at the school premises

Mr. Alabi explained that the two bodies are working hand-in-gloves with the sole aim of leaving a legacy for others, who would take over the reins of leadership at the school in future.

“Our resolve at the onset was to bring about the required improvement to Rugipo in such a way that it would be a reference point among polytechnics in the country. And I am quite thrilled to disclose that we have made giant strides, which have made it at par with its contemporaries.”

Alabi added that the board and the management have brought about a number of worthy achievements to show their seriousness about accomplishing their goal.

He said, “Since coming on board, we have taken the bull by the horns by attaining the following goals; Internet penetration on campus, Establishment of Huawei ICT Academy with 100 students on admission, Computer restoration of the damaged ICT centre, Appointment of auditors to audit the bursary, Establishment of school fees payment platform instead of passing through contractors.

“Completion of abandoned Government projects, Provision of E- testing building capable of admitting candidates for jamb and related examinations, Erecting of new structures in the Faculties of Social sciences and Communication studies and Agricultural Technology, Establishment of Rugipo 103.3Fm station and Provision of a Viable Artisan Centre”.

The Council Chairman, who commended Visitor to the school, Governor Akeredolu for his fatherly support to the school, also gave kudos to the Rector, Mr. Gani Ogundahunsi, whom he described as round peg in a round hole.
