Oyetola’s Wife Charges Residents On Social Distancing, Reaches Out To Vulnerable

Wife of the Governor of Osun and President Ilerioluwa Development Initiative, Mrs Kafayat Oyetola has urged people of the state not to spread the COVID-19 virus by maintaining social distancing and carry out basic hygiene practices such as regular washing of hands.
Mrs Oyetola made call while fielding questions from Journalists during the continuation of her house to house palliatives distribution to the aged and Vulnerable people in Igbajo and Oke-bode communities, Boluwaduro and Atakunmosa West Local government areas of the state.
According to the first lady, social distancing at this point is crucial to flatten the curve and break the cycle of transmission of the virus.
She appealed to the residents of Igbajo and Oke-bode as well as the entire people of the state that maintaining social distancing is key to safety of lives, as well as constant washing of hands with soap and water, use of alcohol-based hand sanitizers, cleaning of frequently touched surfaces.
Osun First Lady however charged government at all levels to see the elderly people in the society just as she enjoined the government to
formulate viable social policies that would help cater for them.
Wife of the Governor who was accompanied by the NGO team members and wives of top political office holders in the state, said if the elderly are properly taken care of, they would continue to contribute their quota towards moulding future generations leaders in order to salvage the nation from its challenges.
Mrs Oyetola who commended Osun Government for being a model to other states in the implementation of social protection law for the welfare scheme for the elderly citizens known as “Agba Osun” also used the occasion to call on all well meaning Nigerians to come out emasse to help the needy in the society.
The president Ilerioluwa Development Initiative who use the medium to appreciate all donors for their support to the NGO since it’s creation, retirated that the NGO aimed at visiting the two communities to ensure that the most vulnerable and deprived aged people in the area are catered for through provision of basic needs at this very hard time.
Receiving the relief items , beneficiaries from Igbajo and Oke- bode communities appreciated the gift of love with joy and prayers, saying the food items would go a long way in assisting them at this lockdown period.
Speaking during the food items distribution ,the owa of Igbajo, Oba Adeniyi Olufemi Fashade commended the wife of the Governor and her NGO for the door to door distribution of food items to the elderly and other vulnerable people in the communities ,adding that the kind gesture which seeks to cushion the biting effect of the total lockdown order by the State and federal government is worth of emulation.
