…..Tasks Youths On Full Participation In Politics

The National Coordinator of Asiwaju Grassroots Foundation and Personal Assistant to the Minister of Interior, Ishola Olateju has tasked Nigerian Youths to actively participate in Politics.

Ishola who noted the capacity, ingenuity and dexterity of the Youth urged them to be active players in the political process so as to safeguard their future.

The AGF National Coordinator stated this on Thursday while receiving an award in Nation building through philanthropy.

Dedicating the award to his late mother, Late Alhaja Wosilat Ishola and Interior Minister Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola who he said taught him the act of giving.

Speaking on the “Role of Youths in governance and leadership in a post COVID-19 World” organised by SHAKE GLOBAL Economic Empowerment and Social Initiatives at the International Conference Centre, Ibadan on Thursday, Ishola stressed that the rich potentials of the Youth in developing all strata of the nation cannot be over-emphasized.

He said Youths as the engine and actualizers of national development will guarantee more prosperity for the country if their mindsets are channeled in the right direction.

According to him, “Murtala Muhammed, Gen Olusegun Obasanjo, Gen Ibraheem Babangida, Gen Muhammadu Buhari and others had used their youthful age to lead this country in their late 30s and early 40s and are even leading the country till now and we keep on saying the Youths are the leaders of tomorrow.

“This narrative must change now and the Nigeria youth must be ready to take the bull by the horns.

Honorable Yomi Ojo Ségun from the State of Osun in his remark charged the youth to take up the challenge and stop the thinking and believe that until they have deep pockets, before they can take up political power.

He encouraged them to take advantage of their numerical strength and mobilize themselves from Ward to ward, unit to unit and support one of them to assume political office, this he said can be possible only if they are resolute and determined.

Others that recieved award at the events are, Honorable Akinwole Akinwale a.k.a Wolekanle, Chairman AA luxury suite and Ogbomosho United Football club, Honorable Tajudeen A Adefoye a k.a Small Alhaji, Member, house of reps Idanre/Ifedore federal constituency Ondo state.

Mr Tola Ibitola, Deputy chief of staffs to Ekiti state governor who was unavoidably absent but sent representatives.
