Yoruba Youth Council to Honour Ooni of Ife, Bayo Adelabu, others

All is now set for the successful conduct of the 2019 programme of the Youth Yoruba Council and the decoration of Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II as the Lord of culture.

The programme put together by Yoruba Youth Council aims to honour some notable Yoruba indigenes who had contributed greatly towards uplifting youths to an enviable position.

The council will also honour former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria and Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the just concluded election in Oyo State, Chief Bayo Adelabu as Yoruba Youth Ambassador. A business man and philanthropist, Otunba Rotimi Ajanaku and an educationst, Dr Fola Akinosun will also be honoured at the palace of Ooni of Ife, venue of the event.

The council will also honourDr Dosunmu Awolowo who is the daughter of late political Icon, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, a university Don, Professor Michael Abdullahi from Kogi State, ace broadcaster, Chief Olu Ogundola of Ekiti State and prominent Yoruba presenter, Otunba Kola Olootu were among the honorees.

In the information made available to CityMirrowNews correspondent by the spokesperson of Yoruba Youth Council, Comrade Femi Awogboro said the National President of the Council, Mr Eric Oluwole will be the chief host.

He explained that the programme which earlier scheduled for March 27th will now hold on Friday 29th March, 2019 by 10am at the palace of Ooni of Ife in Osun State.

The lecture will be delivered by the Chief of Staff to the Ekiti state Governor, Hon Biodun Omoleye while the cultural Ambassadors including Oloye Lekan Alabi and Chief Jimoh Aliu will be among special guests of honour.

The event will also host all the royal fathers in Yoruba land, Southwest Governors and lrominent sons and daughters of Yoruba land are cordially invited.

The programme theme is, “En culturation of Yoruba Culture Among Youth: Implications on Social Re engineering and Good Governance” aims to recognize the immense contributions of some Yoruba Indigenes especially in the area of youth development and empowerment.
