2019 Polls: Ondo APC Raises Alarm Over Killing Of Members

The All Progressive Congress, (APC), in Ondo West Local Government Area of Ondo state have raised the alarm over the spate killings of their member by unknown groups suspected to be cultists in the state.
Addressing a press conference in Ondo town at the party’s secretariat, the APC chairman, Ondo West local government area, Hon. Pelumi Bernard Aro said the incident occurred on 20 January around 5:30pm at Akure motor park area, very close to the residence of a popular candidate of one of the political parties in the kingdom.
He said the killings has become worrisome to the peaceful co-existence of the good people of Ondo city.
Bernard Aro said that not less than three young men had been brought down by the guns of these killer cultist gangs.
Bernard Aro who frowned at the incident said these killer gangs were seen coming down from a vehicle suspected to be coming from the campaign flag-off of their party on spotting the victim who was seemingly believed to be their target.
His words, “the character of these killings in recent time can be likened to be politically motivated, apparently to show supremacy and control over unprotected citizen of Ondo city towards the forthcoming genera elections.
“It is imperative as responsible community leader and party chieftain to alert the public to this unwholesome development and dastard act with the view to charge the security agent to rise-up and stem the tide of security breach in the community”.
He however called on the state commissioner of police, Mr. Gbenga Adeyanju, the Area Commander, Ondo Area Command, the DPOs within the command as a matter of urgency to act swiftly to curb the nefarious activities of these killer cultist gangs before the due date of the general elections in order for the electorate in the area to be able to exercise their right to vote for the candidate of their choice.
