Late Arrival Of Election Materials In Ondo
By Niyi Olutunde, Akure
Election materials arrived late in most of the polling centres in Ondo State.
However, it was gathered that election materials had been distributed
to the 18 Local Government Areas since Friday evening.
As at 8.30am election materials were yet to arrive most of the
polling centres in Owo, hometown of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
At the Methodist primary school, unit 08, ward 04 in Owo Local
Government Area of the state, adhoc staff of the Independent National
Electoral Commission (INEC) and National Youths Service Corps (NYSC)
members were seen waiting for sensitive election materials.
The same was the situation at Gbogi unit in Akure, where prospective
voters were seen at the polling centre waiting for the arrival of
election materials.
However, no one could give reason for the late arrival of the materials.
But there was a large turnout of voters at Igoba/Isinigbo and Itaogbolu/Iju in Akure North Local government area of the state.
