Osun LG Parliamentarian, Oyeyemi Optimistic Of Victory For Oyetola At Supreme Court

A Local Government parliamentarian in Osun state, Hon Oyeyemi Halimat Bisola has expressed optimism that Governor Gboyega Oyetola would defeat Senator Ademola, candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP in the last Osun state gubernatorial election in the matter that awaits judgement at the Supreme court.
Miss Oyeyemi who noted that the PDP and its candidate are so confused right now, said the Oyetola and APC will be favoured at the final judgment at the apex court judging by evidences stated by the Court of Appeal.
The election Petition Tribunal in its March 22 ruling declared Senator Adeleke of the PDP as the winner of the governorship election.
But the appellate court upheld the return of Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola of the APC by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the winner of the election.
However, Senator Adeleke having not satisfied with the ruling of the court of appeal proceeded to Supreme Court to appeal the verdict given by the appellate court.
In their hearing on Monday, supreme court after listening to the parties involved in the matter adjourned till July 5, for final judgment.
Speaking with journalists in Osogbo on Friday, the Councillor representing ward 7 in Olorunda Local Government Area of the state was optimistic that July 5 supreme court judgement would vindicate Governor Oyetola and prove to the whole world that the APC has majority supporters in the state.
According to the 26-year-old parliamentarian, there was the need for all patriotic citizens of the state to pray God to give Oyetola a landslide victory in the case in order to sustain the continuity of development being offered by the APC administration in the state.
She said: ” It’s actually an obvious race, the PDP and their candidate are so confused right now, and given the last hearing, we stand the chance to win the final judgement, I mean we have capable personnel that represent the party so well. So victory is certainty ours insha Allah.
“It is incumbent upon all the lovers of development to pray for Governor Oyetola’s victory in the case in order to continue to enjoy dividend of democracy in the state.
“I also want to enjoin our people to continue to support our amiable Governor in his bid to take the state to the greater heights.
“I believe it is time to move on and concentrate efforts on the transformation work that started about nine years ago and which the people have mandated Gov Gboyega Oyetola to continue and improve upon, ” Miss Oyeyemi said.
