Osun 2026: Osogbo Market Men, Women Pledge Support for Adeleke’s Second Term

The Association of Babaloja and Iyaloja in Osogbo and Olorunda Local Government Areas has pledged its support for Governor Ademola Adeleke’s second-term bid.

The endorsement took place at the Olounkoro Town Hall, where numerous market men and women gathered to express their appreciation for the governor’s impact on commerce and infrastructure.

Delivering a statement on behalf of the association, Chief Adeoti Qamarudeen, Babaloja of Orisunbare Main Market, Osogbo, praised the governor’s unwavering commitment to the economic development of Osun State, particularly in trade and commerce — which he described as central to the association’s interests.

Chief Adeoti noted that Governor Adeleke’s administration has demonstrated visionary leadership, with numerous road projects completed and ongoing, greatly improving market access and overall commercial activities.

“Under his administration, several key road infrastructure projects have been initiated and completed, directly benefiting market accessibility, local transportation, and commercial activities,” he stated.

He listed some of the completed and ongoing projects as: Arogunmosa Road link to Ring Road; Okebale Osogbo; Costain Road link to John Markay to Ayepe Junction; Iso Eran Road, Oja Oba Osogbo; Iso Ata Road, Oja Oba Osogbo; Iso Ewe Road link to Asubiaro Junction; Peter Ajibola Street, Alekuwodo; DSS Road link to Ring Road; Ori Oke Pure Water Road link to Ring Road; Oroki High School, Agunbelewo Road; BCJ Road, Ajegunle link to Olorunda LGA; the third phase of Ona Baba Ona, Okebale; Okefia Flyover Bridge; Lameco Flyover Bridge; dualization of Old Garage to Lameco Junction; Igbalaye Street, Okefia Road; Sasa Road link to Osun State University; Teaching Hospital, Okebale Road; final phase of Ona Baba Ona from Testing Ground to Okebale; Kolawole Road link to Ese Ogba; Oyin Adejobi Road link to Idiomo; Abija Road link to Akogun Junction; Lion Junction to Agboyele Street; Anifowose Street to Costain Area; Dangunro Street, Isale Osun; Atewogba Eja Street, Isale Osun; Sango Orioke to Asubiaro Junction, Isale Osun; Dada Estate Junction to Hallelujah Junction; and Kobo n Gbogbo e Road, Osogbo.

Adeoti then urged all members of the association to throw their full support behind Governor Adeleke in the upcoming election to ensure continuity of development.

“We call on all traders, shop owners, market men and women across Osun State to stand united and support the re-election of Senator Adeleke, a leader who has consistently demonstrated his commitment to grassroots development and the welfare of our people,” he concluded.

Speaking on behalf of the governor, the Special Adviser on Market Affairs, Grace Eniola Omotosho, expressed gratitude for the association’s endorsement and encouraged them to show strong electoral support during the polls.

“We are deeply encouraged by this overwhelming show of support from our market leaders.

Governor Adeleke is a grassroots governor who genuinely cares about the welfare of traders. This endorsement is not just a gesture, it is a validation of the administration’s commitment to inclusive development, and I urge all market men and women to come out en masse during the elections to ensure continuity.” she said
