Osogbo/Iwo Road Rehabilitation: Oluwo Applauds FG , Osun Govt For Intervention
The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi Telu 1, has commended the Federal Ministry of Works and the Osun State Government for their collaborate efforts in rehabilitating Osogbo Iwo road.
Oluwo gave the commendation during his visitation to the site of the ongoing rehabilitation on Tuesday at about 7:30pm on his way back from Canada
According to the revered monarch, the rehabilitation of the road if completed would significantly improve the life of the people in the area just as he said it would alleviate the discomfort commuters do encounter on daily basis.
He noted that the experience of residents of the area due to the deplorable state of the road has not only been harrowing but frustrating, adding that the rehabilitation of roads by the State Government is vital to the socio-economic development of the state.
Appreciating the State Government for embarking on the massive palliative work on the state inner roads, Oluwo expressed satisfaction that the Government is taking into cognisance strategic needs of the people by developing ways to ameliorate the suffering of the citizens.
Earlier on Tuesday the state Commissioner for Works and Transport, Engr. Omowaiye had during the first day of Osun Economic and Investment Summit, visited the site to witness how the asphalt laying was to the completed portion on the road.
He urged the motorists and commuters plying the route to continue to support the government and the engineers working day and night on the road.
He thereafter, assured them that the road will be completed within short period of months.
